Crisálida or Chrysalis is a short film about transformation, about change. For this, I chose a fragment of the life of a lonely character who finds comfort in studies about butterflies. As a narrative proposal I seek to explore Magical Realism. This term, taken from Latin American literature of the 20th century, describes a particular genre deeply rooted in legends and stories from the Latin American oral tradition. In Crisálida, my second short film, I continue to explore its possibilities in film. From the aesthetic, my search goes towards the creation of sensory atmospheres that awaken a poetics in the narrative.
