Hungry and tired of fishing the old-fashioned way, he attempts to steal a fish at a local market, but is caught by the irate owner, who send him flying with a can. The label on the can has a character who tells Felix that there are big salmon to be caught in Alaska for free. The astonished and inventive Felix turns a pair of question marks into skis and some hot dogs into sleigh dogs, and goes mushing off to Alaska. He wanders into an Alaskan dance hall and gets into a fight with bandit Dan McStew, the toughest man in all the North. Dangerous Dan shoots a bunch of bullets at Felix, who gracefully dances above them. He sees a sign showing the way to the salmon fisheries. Felix finally makes it there and swims upriver to catch the salmon. However, that doesn't work, as he's tricked by the local fish. When he makes a net from a spider web, he get tangled up in it and caught by a fisherman's net, leading to his being sent into the cannery. When Felix accidentally falls into a salmon canning plant, he ends up on the table of an astonished restaurant diner... popping out of a can!
