To take a good photograph is never easy. To take a great photograph of an uncooperative subject like a bird for example is even harder.... But to take the perfect image of a bird midst breathtaking behaviour is practically impossible. Bence Máté however, knows the trick, for he is invisible! To the bird’s eye, at least... At 16, Bence won his first prize at the BBC’s prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. At age 25 with even more international awards under his belt he still continues to surprise the world with stunning wildlife images. Bence Máté has a special talent in hiding, hence his amazing success. The INVISIBLE WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHER simply disappears in one of his specially designed photography hides, from where he can enjoy, observe and to the delight of most of us capture what he sees. Birds and other animals are entirely unaware that Bence is close by, thus allowing him to photograph them in unique and rarely seen moments of intimate behaviour. A unique window on both bird behaviour and stunning imagery, as well as the ‘secrets’ of Bence’s success are filmed in this revealing documentary.
FISH SUPPER (EP3) Winter in Hungary. A thin layer of ice separates the lake from the frozen world above. It makes a difference between life and death. If they want to survive, birds have to find their way to the water. A breathing hole. A small patch of water that’s kept free of ice by the constant movements of birds. In wintertime a small hole like this means survival. No wonder birds are here.
In this episode Bence ventures into the water wonderland of Hungary. This is the domain of the grey heron and the great egret. Enormous birds, with enormous appetite. And their favorite dish is... the fish.
