Love & Let Love

Love & Let Love

The short film "Love and Let Love" silently speaks about taboos of Indian patriarchal society that encompass boundaries limiting women's freedom of expression. The film portrays a middle-aged widow who has dutifully been a single parent most of her life and finally decides to let go of her past and go on a date for Valentine's Day. Her daughter, a young painter and a closeted lesbian, also goes on a date that very day to the same café. By sheer coincidence, both mother and daughter confront each other, and the moment is followed by a brief shock!
What follows next is the progressive act of mother and daughter showing solidarity with each other for their choices of love in a patriarchal society.
"Love and Let Love" has no dialogue, and the narrative is conveyed through screenplay, music, and acting.
