An American WWII veteran is taken hostage in a self-driving van hijacked remotely on the 4th of July. He is confronted on the vehicle's video screens by a French woman he raped during the liberation of France in 1944. With technical assistance from their shared grandson, she presents her rapist with an opportunity to deliver them both from a horrific secret if he can only find the courage to face the fallout of his actions.
