Myrna, a diner waitress, is in love with her pen pal -- the convicted murderer, Charles Lamb. Myrna is convinced of his innocence and their mutual love. When Mr. Lamb escapes from prison and shows up at Myrna's door, her dreams of romance turn into a violent nightmare – involving a can of chili.
